Macke is Coming to Holywell Bay!

We have some very exciting news: Macke Swimwear will be trading at the SLSGB Youth National Surf Lifesaving Championships at Holywell Bay from 17 to 19 August 2026!

This will be our first-ever trade stall, and we honestly couldn’t think of a more fitting place for it.

Surf lifesaving is incredibly close to our hearts. It is a sport built around the skills originally developed to keep people safe in the ocean, combining swimming, running, board paddling, surf ski racing and rescue-based events. It brings together some seriously talented athletes, but it is also about so much more than competition. It creates confidence in the sea, develops vital water-safety skills and brings together an amazing community of clubs, volunteers, families and athletes.

The Youth National Championships will see young surf lifesavers from clubs across the country take to the water at Holywell Bay for three days of racing. We are so excited to be featured at an official SLSGB event, particularly one taking place here in Cornwall.

Our first little Macke shop

As a small brand, having our first stall feels like quite a big moment.

We have purchased a cream-white gazebo, which feels very suitably Macke, alongside a trestle table and a branded Macke table cover that we are extremely excited to finally whip out.

What we are quickly discovering is that designing a stall display is a bit of an art form in itself.

Rather than buying absolutely everything new, we have been experimenting with local raw materials to build our tables, rails and display pieces. Some of the materials have even been rescued from a local home renovation and given a new lease of life as part of our Macke setup.

It might not be a glossy department-store display, but it will have been designed, built and probably rebuilt several times by us—and we cannot wait for you to see it.

A little update on our newest suit

We had really hoped that our new navy-blue and pastel-green swimsuit would be ready to bring along to Holywell Bay.

Unfortunately, production is taking slightly longer than we expected while we work on getting all the finer details right. It turns out that creating contrasting-colour seams is a little more complicated than it looks!

Although we are disappointed that we may not have the finished suits available at the event, we would much rather take a little more time and make sure the final design is something we are completely happy with.

We will still be bringing a selection of Macke swimsuits for you to browse, feel and try for size. One of the hardest parts of shopping for swimwear online is knowing how the fabric, fit and shape will feel in person, so we are really looking forward to giving customers the opportunity to properly see our suits up close.

More than anything, we are excited to meet some of our existing customers in person and introduce Macke to a whole new group of swimmers and surf lifesavers on Holywell Beach.
