British Women at the 2025 Swimming World Championships in Singapore

The 2025 World Aquatics Championships pool swimming events took place from 27th July to 3rd August, in Singapore. While one of the highlights was the men’s 4×200m freestyle relay, this blog focuses on the standout performances from the women’s racing.
British Women
Freya Colbert
Freya Colbert placed 4th in the 200 m freestyle in a new British record time of 1:55.06. The race was won by Australian Mollie O’Callaghan in 1:53.48.
Freya also finished 8th in the 400 m individual medley, proving she’s a multi-event threat.
Emily Richards
Emily reached the 200m butterfly final, advancing as the fifth-fastest qualifier from lane one in her semi-final. She went on to claim seventh place in the final.
Freya Colbert

Abbie Wood
Abbie placed sixth in the 200m Individual Medley and secured 10th overall in the 400m IM.
Angharad Evans
Angharad Evans delivered a standout performance in the 100m breaststroke, clocking 1:05.37 and narrowly missing the podium. Impressively, she lowered her own British record, despite opening with a slower first 50 split than in her previous best. She showed real composure and strength on the back end of the race.
Lauren Cox
In the 50m back, Lauren Cox placed 5th, only 0.06s off a medal.
4x100m Medley Relay
Lauren Cox, Angharad Evans, Emily Richards, and Freya Anderson teamed up for both the heats and final of the Women’s 4x100m Medley. The quartet lifted their performance to cut more than a second off their qualifying time, securing an impressive eighth place on the world stage.
